Beautiful Beaches and Kalamazoo…is that an oxymoron??
If you like ice skating, Lake Michigan is close.
How can you make that happen??…I'd say Magic.
    Surprise everyone…Elope to Florida..Great Beaches.
This time of year is perfect. Miami is about 75 now.
It doesn't cost much to fly down there, if you plan ahead.

I just want to add that I've lived in the Orlando area for years. There is a chance that January can be cold. Plan to go further south.
Another idea is Disney World. They do alot of weddings…not tacky at all, and plenty to do in the area.

No, they are definitely not just for beach weddings. Lace dresses are classic and feminine without being sparkly. And lace dresses come in all different types of cuts and silhouettes. It's really just whatever looks best on your figure and fits the style wedding you are having.

*EDIT: Here are a few links to pictures of lace wedding dresses that would work great for an indoor wedding, just to give you an idea:

You should check out Sanibel Island FL. I have been going there for years and you can have a wedding on any budget. There are several hotels and resorts that offer wedding packages. There is also a wonderful lady that owns Weddings By The Sea. She is a local and has been living on the island for years. She does the most beautiful weddings and can assist you with anything. She also plans wedding for any budget. Of course on Sanibel you only need the permit and the justice of the peace to marry you, so you really do not even need an hotel. Anywhere on the Island is beautiful to get married at. They have wonderful white beaches and sparkling blue water. They also have the best shelling in the world. Most people get married at sunrise or sunset that really makes a gorgeous background to your wedding. Here are some great websites for planning a beach wedding on Sanibel:

I would also recommend the FL Keys there are several beautiful islands to choose from and again you can do an wedding on any budget: There is also Flagler Beach which is really nice and pretty secluded or even St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the US and it is very beautiful. You can take a horse and carriage to and from your wedding. It really has old world charm and yes they have several resorts there. Here are some sites for these places:

I would also start with the visitors center for you location. Most of them have websites and you can email them for help. This is a FREE service so why not use it. Contact them and tell them about what you want to do, your budget, and the dates. They will be able to direct you to locations that fit your budget, info on the marriage license, photographers, florist, wedding planners and more. They really are very helpful and again FREE so use them! They are also locals so they really know the good locations. Congrats on your wedding!

VA Beach & Downtown Norfolk have tons of great inexpensive places. Open up the phone book or Google. Almost every hotel, restaurant, conference centers, etc has great rates.

    Congratulations & Good Luck!

Well if you are getting married in Mexico, there are two steps to getting married and you need to spend a little time here before the big day to make it legal. To be married legally in Mexico, you need to do the "civil" which involves all the paper work, blood tests, translations, fees, which takes about four days to over a week to complete.

The "ceremony" is the pretty part, but not legal, you have to complete the "civil", (which you can include with the ceremony), but you cannot have only the "ceremony" and have it be legal where you live.

My suggestion is: Get married by a judge or justice of the peace where you live, don't tell anyone and then have the "ceremony" (can be complete with clergy) in Mexico, on the beach, villa, or hotel.

By the way, Puerto Vallarta is an excellent place to get married, take a look at this site:
