Some of the best beaches in the world are located in the Caribbean Sea. For sure is the zone of the planet that has the best water, the most shining sand and the greatest hotel infraestructure in order to have everything resolve and just enjoy of the summer.

Some of the best beaches in the Caribbean are located in the multiple islands that this misterious sea has to offer. Once a shelter of pirate and thiefs, the islands of the Caribbean offer besides the incredible beaches, all the magic and ghost stories that the pirate world has given. In this context, the best beaches in the Caribbean are:

Los Roques, Venezuela, an amazing, unknown and wild place to enjoy some of the best views of the Caribbean Sea.

Tulum, Mexico, with spectacular Maya ruins, having the particularity that is the only place in the coast that the Maya culture has build one of their

With some of the best summer spots in the world, the Caribbean Sea is home of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are several reasons for that, and one of them is that the Caribbean water temperature average is 27 °C and it does not change beyond 3°C. The Caribbean offers a wide variety of beaches, hotels, wildnights and summer activities like diving, snorkelling or just lying on the beach.

St Martin/St Maarten is one island with two different sides.
St Martin is the french side and they have many optional clothing beaches. It's not a big deal to them to see women topless or nude. Orient Beach, Cupecoy and Happy Bay are your most popular. Here are a couple of links to check out.

St Maarten is the dutch side and some of the beaches you will find women going topless, but not as much.

They call this island the gourmet capital of the world. The food is fantastic. Not only do you have delicious food but the shopping is excellent too.

    Enjoy)

There are several free beaches, but they won't have restrooms or other amenities. You can take a cab from the port to Cabbage Beach on paradise island.

As for Atlantis, you can walk thru the lobbies and casino, check out the marina village and visit the marina for free. Beyond that.. you have to get a pass. The aquarium pass is $35pp, the Beach is $63 and the water park is $105.
There's a small section of the aquarium that you can view from the Great Hall of waters Restaurant..but you can't go thru the DIGS for the rest of it without a pass.

The public beach is the same beach that Atlantis stands on.. just a few meters up the beach.. no need to pay more than the $4 for the cab.

Locals sell rum drinks on the beach and you can rent a chair and umbrella if you need it.

The US Virgin Island beaches fit your description. The temp doesn't vary that much in the Caribbean. November is still a great time to travel.

Barbados, Aruba, St Maarten/St Martin, Cayman Islands, Mexico are all good islands that will have warm temps and calm water.

    Have fun and enjoy)

OMG Puerto Rico is the best place for adventure & beach. This is why the PR tourism's slogan is "Explore Beyond the Shore" & it used to be "Visit the Continent of Puerto Rico" There is so much to do here, it just depends on what you like.

San Juan is the big city & the main tourist area. Its a very historical city & there are alot of historic sights to see like El Morro, a 6 story war fort that was built over 500 years ago. There are old cathedrals & gov't houses. The homes are colorful & built with old spanish colonial architecture & there are cobblestone streets with lots of restaraunts & boutiques. Its very pretty. There is also everything modern that you could want. There is really great nightlife like clubs, bars & casinos & it's pretty safe compared to some other islands. Isla Verde is a nice beach in San Juan, something like Miami beach with hotels & resorts & golden sand. There are taxis & buses all around San Juan too. Now you can stay in San Juan or outside of San Juan. Because there are alot of nice place outside the city too, like Fajardo, Vieques & Culebra, Ponce, Rincon, Dorado & more.. You can stay at these other places or you can rent a car & travel the whole isalnd, its only 100 miles long.

There is a Rain Forest on the east coast in Rio Grande called El Yunque. Its a mountain you can drive right up & then hike the trails & swim in the waterfalls. There are nice beaches nearby too like Luqillo & Seven Seas. Also This is right near Fajardo. Fajardo has great boating & fishing & snorkeling, scuba diving & water sports. You can catch a ferry from here to the small Islands of Vieques & Culebra which have almost secluded white sand beaches, very beautiful. In Fajardo & in Vieques there is also a bioluminescent bay where the water glows in the dark. You take a kayak at night, its amazing! In the north, there is Arecibo Telescope, the biggest radio telescope in the world. & Camuy Caves, a huge beautiful underground cave system. On the west coast surfing is great. Rincon is known for surfing & beautiful sunsets, even whale watching in the winter. In the South Ponce is like a small European town with museums & nice architecture. There is also Guanica dry forest here. If you like the quiet mountians go to Utuao in the central area. Driving PR is beautiful in itself. The food is delicious & the people are friendly. You can horseback ride on beaches & do watersports & all kinds of nature trips. Have fun!!

Although I have not been to all of the caribbean beaches, I think to go to paradise with a 13 year old, you should go to the US Virgin Islands. No passport, easy travel there, and family friendly. Most stay on St Thomas, beautiful beaches, but things to do as a family. Coral World Marine Park, for example. Marine park on the beach, that allow snorkeling at the beach right next door. Easy travel on the island, open air taxi's that pick-up drop off everywhere anytime, and cost like $2-3 bucks a person. Also romantic island. Private boat rides, etc. Ferrys that take you to other islands, like St John, British Virgin Islands, etc.

Another plus about the USVI is that they have not had a hurricane hit in 8+ years, so should be good weather. We were there last year right after Thanksgiving until Dec 3rd. 60's at night, 80's during the day, and no rain! It was peaceful and relaxing.

Good Luck, wherever you choose will be amazing!

No. The clarity of the water is different in the Caribbean…the turquoise waters are nothing in comparison to Florida keys…the Caribbean is clear, blue with powder white sand. The scenery is tropical, not as commericialized as in Florida…and the wildlife is amazing in the tropics.
And I have yet to find the water smelling bad in the tropics…at least where I've been never a problem…when I was in Florida down by one of the keys, I didn't like the smell that came from the water.
