I have not worked on a cruise ship but I have been on about 20 cruises and I usually talk to the staff, and usually about how work is going. A few things I have learned are that if you are hired you have to sign a contract to work for 8 or 9 months straight. And that means 7 days a week and usually 10 to 12 hours a day and sometimes with a split shift that starts early in the morning and does not end until 10 or 11 PM. There are no Saturdays and Sundays off and you may get to go ashore in port stops on on occasions but not at every stop. After you complete your initial tour then you get 2 or 3 months off before you are to report back to the ship.
All of the cruise lines operating out of the US have jobs information and a link on their web home page. So for a starting point you need to read what they present on their web sites and then contact the cruise lines directly. On the cruise lines' web sites you will find a link to jobs, employment, human resources or some such link that will give you information about their positions. And there are no fees or charges for information. Some sites even have current vacancies they are recruiting for. Several cruise lines have new ships coming out soon so opportunities will be there. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Disney and some others will have new ships launched in the next couple years.

There's a marine doctor in Buxton, one in Preston and one in London [harley St] it's £80 and lasts for two years.
That's about all there is. They don't do a drug test, it's not normally required. Perhaps you get the marine certificate off the marine doctor and then go to the hospital for a chest Xray and drug test.

It may be legitimate, but there is no reason to pay a fee.
Contact the cruise companies directly, for example, I went to the Norwegian Cruise Line site (www.ncl.com) and it has a link for employment right on the welcome page. Why do you need to go through an agency?

I would contact the Steiner Education Group..many of their massage, and facial students get employment on the cruise lines. You could also try contacting each of the Cruise Lines directly.

It's a tougher gig than you might think. the turnarounds are so fast now, there's no time to really enjoy yourself. It would get old fast.

The best and most genuine websites for cruise ship employment are the cruise lines themselves, or the sites of their concessionaires (for the shops, Spa, Casino)
You should stay away from those which ask for a fee upfront. There are legit agencies – which will charge once they have found a job for you.
Everything else – just forget it.
You need to apply to the cruise lines for a specific job, which requires a certain amount of previous experience – depending on what you want to apply for.
It also depends sometimes on your nationality, if it is better to go through an agency or direct to the cruise lines.

Yes, this question is asked almost every day, so there are plenty of answers on this website. Otherwise, you can go to the cruise lines' websites and click on "employment".
Most cruise lines do not hire many Americans – don't think I've met any in the cruises I've taken. Americans generally would not want to work under the conditions required on a cruise ship. You have long contracts [six months or more], very long days and very long work weeks, crowded accommodations, low pay. And you sometimes cannot get off the ship at the ports you visit.
NCL does have one ship that has an American staff – the one that circles Hawaii – and it is notorious for poor service.
Working on a cruise ship is definitely not as glamorous as it sounds.

The quickest way is ti file an injunction against the company for discrimination. talk to an attorney first before you go out suing people. If he indeed has be discriminated against, then the court will order the cruis liner to offer him a job, however he will probably be terminated for anything he does wrong. Like I said talk to an attorney who can help you with this case.

But you didn't say of your research whether you had contacted cruise lines. So I listed some web sites below.. I also listed a cruise line jobs site.
I have heard, but not verified, that Norwegian Cruise line had problems finding people to work its HAwaii cruises. Apparently the line wanted or needed to hire HAwaiians but didn't get many people applying. I don't know if this is still the case, but its worth checking with NCL about.
I have been on many cruises and almost all of the security people whom I have seen on entering and leaving ships have been Polynesian, not American. That's not to say that you cannot get hired, but that's just what I have observed.
