This is a small outdated ship and YES.. you will need to participate in timeshare activities.

Check sites like Cruisecritics.com for more information about the cruise itself.
And do a check online for Cruise Scams

You didn't win anything.. there are expenses as well as timeshares attached.

You can definitely look at the cruise line websites, but you probably want to assess all of your options just in case. I've used this website: http://www.bargaintravelcruises.com/ which is a search engine of low priced cruises around the world. I managed to book mine for very cheap through here. I'd compare Bargain Travel Cruises with the cruise lines websites to see which is cheaper overall.

Well I have done more than 20 cruises and lately have been doing 2 or 3 per year. The reasons are the cruise vacation is really cheap compared to going to one location for a week. A resort location like maybe Cancun, Mexico will cost about $200 per night for a resort hotel and then you have to buy food and pay for entertainment. Cruises, on the other hand are much cheaper now than they were 10 to 15 years ago. This is so because there are so many cruise lines and ships now. Plus many of the ships are relatively new; less than 10 yrs old and have great amenities.

You can get great free food in cruise ships all day every day and I mean things for dinner like steak, lobster, prime rib, fillet minion and great soups and salads.

The cruise ships provide entertainment; you can go to the disco each night and there is no cover charge; there's a free show every evening. The ships (except Disney) have a casino if you care to gamble. They all have free gyms (you generally have to pay to use the health club at a resort hotel); they have multiple pools and hot tubs, and a variety on other on-board activities.

The cruise ship allows you to visit many countries. I have been to countries all over the world that I would probably otherwise not get to but by cruise ship. Yes you have generally only 8 or 9 hours at each port. But in most cases that is more than enough to see the city and enjoy it, and decide whether you ever want to come back for a longer visit.

The cruise gives you the whole package in one stop.

All the major cruise lines do 3, 4 and 5 day cruises to the Bahamas from pretty much any port in Fl.
They all run in the $100pp/day range. If you look you can sometimes find them at half that price.

The "free" cruise being given on these promotions is usually on a 50 year old ferry boat with terrible service. It is not worth it. Cruises to Mexico are now less then $75 per person per day. Go on one of those.

Most cruises require a deposit when you book and the balance of payment prior to a certain number of days before the cruise. It would be possible to book the cruise through most travel agents, make your deposit, then make payments on a regular basis as long as your final payment is made on time. A good travel agent can make all of the necessary arrangements for you and, with a few exceptions, will be able to get you the same price as a website.

Another option is to set aside a certain amount of money on a regular basis in a separate bank account. After making your deposit you could put money aside in this account, possibly earn a bit of interest, then pay off the balance owing when required.

The prices you see are for one person, but double occupancy, which means two people share the room. Inside rooms are the least expensive because they don't have any windows . A suite are the most expensive. Usually they have a separate relaxing area and a separate sleeping area, kind of like a hotel room. The most popular are the balcony;s which means the have a sliding door with a balcony to go outside on. You can have a double bed or two separate beds. You just tell them what you want when you book a cabin. So each of you will get a ticket when you book together. Each of you will get a cruise card when you board the ship. This is something you keep with you for the whole cruise. It's for buying anything on the ship such as drinks, or gifts. You also must have this when you go ashore. Whomever you book with will send you all the info you need to know. I hope this helps.
