Ha ha, you answered my question, so I'll answer yours. You know the expression, "A fool and his money are soon parted?" Perhaps he will counter with, "You get what you pay for."
Some people think it's impressive to pay a lot for things–like you're going to think he's rich bc he pays more. Ha ha. Who cares. I personally like to brag about how much money I saved, so I guess I am equally tiresome!!

I save money on things that are not important to me so that I can treat myself to something that is important to me.

Bottom line–if this guy is trying to impress you and you are not impressed, then do not reinforce his jacka** behavior. Just ignore it, maybe he'll get the hint. Or yawn in his face if he starts bragging.

CVG is the most expensive airport to fly out of. I live in Cincinnati and it is always in the newspaper. I am sure you know the prices are so bad, people drive to Dayton, Columbus and Indianapolis just for lower fares only to make a connection in Cincinnati before reaching their final destination.

$200 is a great price for a ticket to LAX. I would try airfarewatchdog.com. They have a lot of good deals. If you don't mind driving to Columbus or Indianapolis, you can check airfare tickets out of those cities to LAX. Columbus and Indianapolis are served by Southwest so their prices are lower. Plus their airports are not dominated by 1 airline.

You can also try expedia.com or priceline.com.

Renting a vehicle for a long one-way trip would be costly (especially given the price of gasoline); air fares are relatively cheap. Another possibility would be to purchase a car and drive it down; it will cost more than flying, but you'll be able to schlep your household goods, and that might save money in the long run — especially if you'll need a car in Florida.

1- First, book your R/T Return ticket. O/W or One-WAY/Leg fares are twice more expensive.
2- You can book an O/J or Open-Jaw, that is YYZ/Toronto to LON and back ROM>YYZ/Toronto.
3- From Europe to Canada, see:

A lot of airlines have weekly or weekend specials. Delta has a weekend special every week where you flight out on a Saturday and return either on a Monday or Tuesday.

Where you are flying to as well as when you are flying will make a difference. If you book a ticket 7 days before your trip, it is unlikely you will get a cheap ticket. As for booking in the morning or at night, there is no difference.

Check out alternative airports. For example, Cincinnati tends to have higher airfare than the rest of the country. So what we do is look at flights departing from Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis and Louisville. We end up saving a few hundred dollars per ticket.

OK, there's a lot in this question.

First off, the hotel is going to be a problem. For one, hotels usually require someone to be at least 21 for check in. Being underage, they won't even deal with you. You aren't a legal adult. If you trash the room (not saying you will, but it's happened to the hotels), they cannot hold you legally liable. So the general policy is that someone 21 has to physically check in. There may be some hotels that have lower ages, but they are pretty cheap and sleazy, and I don't recommend them. Even the Disney hotels, which are more expensive, usually require someone at least 21.

I always recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) and the Candy Cane Inn. Both are nice, and CLOSE. You can walk to the park from the hotel quite easily. There are closer hotels, but you get the most value from these two.

There may be cheaper ways to buy tickets than Disneyland.com, but none safer. I have literally purchased HUNDREDS of tickets through Disneyland.com (long story). Funex.com is a good choice if you want to save a couple bucks.

Flying is actually a good choice, if you purchase far enough in advance. I recommend Southwest or Jet Blue. Cheap fares, good planes that won't crash.

The Disneyland ® Resort Express, operated by Gray Line Tours, makes it easy to travel between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and the Anaheim Resort. After exiting the baggage claim area, proceed to the center island. The Disneyland® Resort Express picks up underneath the overhead GREEN sign.
    - Hourly departures between 6:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
    - Departures every 30 minutes between 10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
    - Hourly departures between 7:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
    - Reservations are NOT required
For additional information and current schedule, call (714) 978-8855.

Fares are $20 one way and $30 R/T for adults, $17/$22 for children 3-11.

Cheap food is good. If you don't mind going outside the park, there's a mcdonald's right on harbor, and a Subway about a block south, and a Taco Bell just north of the HoJo. However, leaving the park in the middle of the day can waste a lot of time. So I recommend Red Rockett's Pizza Port for quick eats and refillable drinks. Carnation Cafe on Main St has good comfort food, with entrees for about $10.

Check out the question above this one for hints about fast pass.

    Have fun!
