Paris Hotels In France Which One?

Paris Hotels In France Which One?

There are numerous different hotels in Paris to choose from that cater for all budgets and you will spend a lot of time deciding which one is best for you, so from people’s experiences, thought we would provide some ideas.

1 Star Hotels

One star hotels in Paris are generally for those wishing to stay in the capital on a budget and some rooms within the hotels will have their own private bathroom facilities like the Hotel Amarys Simart whereas others will also offer rooms with shared facilities such as the Port-Royal Hotel and the Hotel des Allies.

Not all budget hotels provide breakfast, so this is something else you may wish to check into prior to booking, but there are also places you can stay that have proper cooking facilities, known as a studio room, and one such hotel is called the Residence Hotel Pacific.

2 Star Hotels

There are quite a few different types of two star hotel that range in price depending upon where they are situated and the type of facilities they have on offer and one particular hotel called the Kyriad Hotel has business facilities, meeting rooms, free WiFi and even a restaurant, whereas the Delos Vaugirard has its own parking facilities.

You may like the idea of being within walking distance of the famous Paris landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and if that is the case, then the Hotel de la Motte Picquet is a great choice, or perhaps you are travelling to Paris as a family and therefore the Hotel Cactus could be an option as they have a family suite for up to six people.

Paris is a very historical city with many old buildings and lots have been converted into hotels, yet some have been fully renovated to include lifts for those that are less able, or of course those that are just plain lazy to negotiate flights of stairs!!  But there are also hotels that have rooms dedicated for the disabled such as the Hotel de la Paix Tour Eiffel.

3 Star Hotels

Incredibly there are actually more three star hotels in Paris than any other category and again, these range in price depending upon their location and the facilities they have to offer.

However, throughout Europe you do not find many hotels that provide tea and coffee making facilities within a room, so if you like winding into the day with a nice cuppa before breakfast, then check through information carefully, as most hotels that do provide this service will like to make a point of this fact, but we do know that the Best Western Eiffel Segur along with the Hotel Duminy Vendome both have these facilities within the rooms.

There are also several hotels that provide WiFi and internet access if you cannot do without your laptop, yet check carefully as sometimes it is only available in common areas like the lounge area or reception, whereas others state internet access within your room, but some Paris hotels also charge extra for this.  However, a couple of hotels that do offer free internet access within your room include the Hotel Choiseul Opera and the Hotel Jardin de Villiers.

4 Star Hotels

Many four star hotels in Paris have room service facilities for snacks and hot meals served to your room throughout the day and evening and the Hotel Atala offers this facility along with the Amarante Beau Manoir, but this hotel also has a fitness room in case you want to work off a few extra pounds from over indulging!

Most hotels with a rating of four will have their own restaurant and will combine luxury with comfort and style, which is logical really, as you are getting towards the top end of hotels in Paris, unless of course you want the real luxury of five star plus with famous names such as the incredible Ritz or the Plaza Athenee, but with price tags to match.

Also both 4 and 5 star hotels in Paris offer suites where you can have a separate lounge area, etc, plus, the more expensive hotels tend to have larger rooms, and unfortunately, this is something you do have to be careful about, as Paris is notorious for small hotel rooms, so beware!

Obviously good planning and research are the keys to getting the most out of your holiday in Paris but we hope this has given you a little insight into the types of hotels available.

If you're looking for the very cheapest of hotels in Paris it wouldn't be right to expect quality. They're cheap for a reason. Go to Expedia and enter the dates in which you plan to go (be sure to click "Flight + hotels") and then it will give you a long list of all of the hotels in Paris. You can then sort by price and find the cheapest available. If you book both flight and hotel on Expedia you are given a sizable discount. Here's their website: http://www.expedia.com/default.asp
The site also offers customer reviews of people who have stayed at each hotel. If you're going to stay at a 1-3 star then customer reviews will most certainly help you narrow down your search to a quality hotel or two.

Your plane ticket from Karachi will be expensive, that is almost certainly unavoidable. Most of the 1-2 star hotels in Paris are on the outskirts of the city, forcing you to take some form of transportation, which will cost money obviously. So I would recommend looking at quality 3 stars in a convenient location in Paris rather than an inconvenient and cheap hotel outside of Paris. When you've narrowed down your search of hotels be sure to look at the customer reviews on Yahoo! Travel and Trip Advisor.

A 16 year old is still a minor and therefore incapable of entering into a binding contract. Although most people don't think in these terms the fact is that renting a hotel room is a form of contract. Some hotels might therefore hesitate to rent a room to a 16 year old. However, to the best of my knowledge it is not illegal to do so.

I suggest that you communicate with whatever hotel you're interested in and determine what, if any, special arrangements they would require (such as having your parents guarantee payment).

You might also consider that an unaccompanied minor, at least in theory, requires the permission of a parent or legal guardian to be traveling. It might be a good idea to have a written and notarized document from one or both of your parents giving you specific permission to be traveling alone in France lest some busybody official hassle you.

The name of the hotel has changed. The Holiday inn Paris Eiffel Tower is now call Ramada Tour Eiffel.
2 star hotels very close to the Eiffel Tower is Hotel Prince Paris, another one, not so closer Hotel laserre Paris. (The front desk is at the first floor, without elevator)
3 star Hotels : Hotel de La Bourdonnais, hotel du Cadran
4 star Hotel : Mercure Suffren.

The Eiffel Tower is in Paris 7. The closer Streets are Avenue de La Bourdonnais, Avenue de Suffren. The hotels official websites always describe their location with a map. You can also check the location with Mappy.

About the prices, there are free in all categories. (2 star hotels are nevertheless less expensive) During congress and exhibitions, higher rates are charge. You can check the dates of the exhibition centers( Paris Expo, Villepinte)

I Hope this will help you to have a nice stay in Paris.

It really depends on how much you can afford. My favorite place to stay is an inn above a restaurant on the Left Bank. The restaurant is called Thoumieux. The site is below…use Google's translation tool if you cannot read French.

The French hotel rating system does not measure quality per se .

Rather, it uses 22 measurement criteria to assess the presence or absence of certain features in the hotel.

Some of the criteria used are:

    Room sizes and numbers
    Room soundproofing
    Heating and air-conditioning
    Design of bathroom facilities
    Phone system
    Electrical equipment
    Elevators

French law defines the following star ratings:

    - 0 étoile : confort limité (limited comfort)
    - 1 étoile : confort moyen ( average comfort)
    - 2 étoiles : bon confort (good comfort)
    - 3 étoiles : grand confort (great comfort)
    - 4 étoiles : très grand confort (very great comfort)
    - 4 étoiles luxe : haut de gamme (top-of-the-range)

The full law can be found (in French naturally) here: http://www.drakkaronline.com/Rubriques/hotelrestau/pdfs/class_hotel.PDF

Because the star rating system addresses only the presence or absence of systems and does NOT address subjective criteria such as service (or cleanliness for that matter) to produce a strictly defined numerical rating it is, in my opinion, utterly useless.

A "Three Star" Hotel can be an absolute pit with surely staff and mold on the walls while a "One Star" might lack an elevator and dining room but be clean and friendly.

The only way to find out the real quality of a hotel is to either stay there or ask someone who has stayed there.

NB: Contrary to what the responder below states there are many wonderful 1 and 2 star hotels. Of course, not one of them will be anything like the Holiday Inn in Omaha.
