Party Cruise

As the name suggests, a party cruise is a party on a boat or ship. What an innovative way to party, right? Everyone loves cruising as much as they love partying, so it makes sense to combine both of them and have a good time. Besides, it’s a change from the ordinary, so why not?

” Types of party cruises: These parties can be of several kinds. Perhaps you want to party with friends and have a whale of a time, or you want an outing with your family, or are celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary, or even an engagement. Well, then, a party cruise becomes an event to remember. These parties can go on from a few hours in the evening to a whole day. You can hire a boat and tailor it to your needs or just take a party cruise that’s readily available.

Among theme party cruises, there are pirate parties, casino party cruises and costume party cruises, apart from nightclub cruises. Others include the following:

” Music parties: You can have a hip hop cruise, a country Western cruise or any other distinct music party cruise, and can fit the food to it. For instance, if you have a country Western cruise, perhaps you might like to serve salsa and barbeque and salsa.

” Murder mysteries parties: Here, a guest or crew member is “murdered” on the boat and other guests play detectives and must find the killer.

” Ghost cruise parties: Here, the ship is haunted and guests spend time solving the mystery of the ghost and haunted ship.

” New Years Eve parties: These are three-hour parties and are held on New Year’s Eve in those spots where the ship can give views of spectacular fireworks or other celebrations.

” Contest cruise parties: The host organizes contests such as dancing, karaoke or something like American Idol which guests can take part in. Winners are given prizes.

” Chartered cruise parties: Sometimes, pleasure boat companies offer their boats to business houses or individuals who want to celebrate important events on board a ship.

” Where you can find party cruises: Browse cruise companies and arrange your time on the cruise with them. You can also approach big hotels or bars that have access to a river, beach or marina, or charter companies that give out their ships on tours. If the city you’re in is on a beach, it’s sure to offer these cruises.

” Costs: This would depend on the theme of the cruise party, the number of guests and the kind of ship you book. Fares start at $20 and can go up to $100 per head. You need to book well in advance.

The party cruises are generally accompanied with a lot of singing, dancing and fireworks. Provisions are made in advance, and the volumes are raised while the ship sails away on the sparkly waters of the Harbor, Ocean or river.

” What to wear: This depends on the kind of cruise you’re taking. If your cruise party starts in the afternoon, you might like to wear casual wear, but if it begins in the evening, you will be expected to dress as if you were going to a nightclub.

I get sea sick. And I can do all that partying in one night in my town. You may want to think this one through. How will you fund this on a continual basis?

I would choose Carnival. I have a friend that has been on many different cruises and he likes the fun and party spirit of the Carnival ships the best. I also took a Carnival cruise last year, and loved it! Everything is so laid back and they encourage you to party and have fun. It is great for young ppl wanting to have fun and not be dragged down by "old codger" activities. There are activities and shows for all age groups on these ships.

I have been on several cruises on 3 different cruise lines. Carnival is definitely the best when it comes to partying. One cruise I went on was like living in Mayberry, they rolled it up at 9 PM each night. I learned that lesson the hard way, so now I won't travel with anybody except Carnival.

Try Carnival…it caters to twenty somethings and you'll have a lot of fun even if you're older. I sure did, just watching the twenty somethings around the pool on days at sea…they were having a great time with all the pool activities Carnival has for them or for anyone who wants to join.

Just buy some snorkel gear before you go, so you can snorkel without buying into their off shore bookings. Go on your own. Just get off the ship, ask the taxi driver to take you to "**** beach" and give him a time to pick you up. He'll be there for you. Tip him a bit too. It'll be appreciated. The taxi drivers also know the best spots on the island too…secluded or whatever you're looking for, snorkeling…etc.

Try this site: iBtraveling.com for some great travel deals. This is where I always find something.

    Have fun though!

The longer the cruise…generally, the older the crowd gets (they typically have the money/time to waste for these more expensive longer trips). That's not always true, but the young singles generally take a short 3-4 day cruise to the Bahamas or something of that nature. Carnival is considered the "party" ship. Regardless of what cruise you go on, there will be familes and kids.

Looks like the dressing policy is quite open (jeans or dinner dresses?), but keep on the conservative and formal side.
Depending on the weather, you can wear dress pants and a nice blouse, with a jacket in case it gets chilly.
Try on different tops with the pants. A cashmere sweater with a great necklace would work too, or a twin set in a nice color.
A dark suit would be suitable too. Again, the weather is a key factor.
I think a dinner dress is the same as a cocktail dress. If you wear one you might feel overdressed, in case a lot of people go in jeans (I really don't think they do, but if the secretary said so…)
    Enjoy!

Cruises out of Seattle or Vancouver dont start till the last week in April. So you may not be able to do this during spring break.

I'd wear a black cocktail dress with killer heels. You're young, you should wear something that will make you feel beautiful and confident. I personally don't know of too many people who wear jeans on a cruise party. But, if killer heels happen to be in your future, then fabutastic.
