Okay, I was on an over 17 hour flight from Virginia to Australia and I was on my period too. If you cannot use tampons, and you don't think there is going to be bins in the restrooms, bring a plastic bag.

This may sound gross, but just kind of fold up the used pad, wrap it in the new pad wrapper, wrap that in toilet paper, and put it in the bag. Then put in in a purse for when you leave the bathroom. Once off the flight, throw bag away!

For while at relatives house, if you're too embarrassed to ask them to put bins in the bathrooms, do the same thing.

If you use tampons, just flush them. But defiantly don't flush them if your relatives have a septic tank. That causes a lot of damage.

You're going to need to change whatever you're wearing at least once on the flight, so I hope this helps!

Good luck, safe flight, and have fun in India!
